A Man's Mumbles

I love Matt Barkley’s outlook on the position of leadership he is in and how he is using his life for God. When the sanctions came down and he found out that USC could not be in a bowl game for two seasons, he responded by saying that he could use this time to go on missions. The guy is doing it the right way.

Let’s hope he comes back next year.

A week ago we went to see Moneyball which was inspirational, happy, and even had bumpity music playing during emotional parts. As a result, the movie finished and all everyone wanted to do was become general managers of sporting teams. Unfortunately, a week has since gone by and Grant cannot get this idea out of his head. I’m pretty sure he thinks he is Billy Beane (who was played by Brad Pitt, who is married to that Angelina girl…essentially, Grant thinks he is married to that Angelina girl).

Anyway, we had two intramural football games today and Grant decided to come watch the second. The above picture is our conversation after the game (Grant is the white writing). He is committed to the character and the non-GM Grant may be gone for good…

Also, we are now 5-1 and play Monday night at 8. Come support…if ya can.

People and Things is finally out.

All I can say:

It’s time to bust out the air piano. We have some new songs to learn. Incredible.

I finally got to see this band live on Friday (along with 8 million other people. I don’t understand how so many people could be in one spot at the same time but that’s another story). They played this song and I wanted to share it.

I mean I’m prolly not the most musically gifted person (except for maybe the air piano and any vocal at any given moment in any location) but I think this is the coolest thing. This song is over 16 minutes long on their cd but their live version is only half of that. If you don’t have time to watch all of it just watch from 4:33 on. He keeps recording and looping and dancing. I think it’s so good.

This is now what hangs above our TV in our house. I tried convincing the roommates that we don’t live outdoors or in a forest but I was outnumbered. I feel like it knows I don’t like it and want to light it on fire. On the bright side, Captain McPumpkin now has a friend.

I’ve been wanting to post a bunch of stuff lately but we will start with this.

I love this depiction of discipleship and how central it is to who we are and the lifestyle we lead.

This is us walking to the Jay Leno Tonight Show. We actually got upgraded to the front row and I got to shake Jay Leno’s hand. Unfortunately, I did one of those combo hi-five/handshake thing. I wonder if they will show it tonight.
